Queen's Park Singers present 'A Musical Instrument'

  • St Gabriel's Pimlico Warwick Square London, England, SW1 United Kingdom (map)

Queens Park Singers return to the Brandenburg Festival with an evening of Tallis, Byrd, Vaughan Williams and Elgar, along with a work by Hamish Brown for choir and saxophone quartet based on a poem by Elizabeth Barrett Browning. This piece was commissioned by QPS and premiered by them in 2022.

Queen's Park Singers are a friendly choir based in Queen's Park, London NW6. It all started when a group of enthusiastic local musicians began meeting informally to sing for their pleasure and that of their friends. Then, 22 years ago, the choir was formally constituted as Queen’s Park Singers under the leadership of David Till, who continued as Music Director until 2009. With repertoire ranging from choral music from the Tudor period to works by contemporary composers, Queen’s Park Singers usually gives three concerts each season, in December, March/April and June.
